The Action
The Action phase is the aspect of the Fire Project that sets it apart from other high school capstones. This phase requires each student to showcase the knowledge, skills, and experiences they have gained over their four years at Social Justice by applying it to a real-life action. The action can be something the student organizes or creates, but can also tap into other organizations doing similar work.
At least twenty document hours are required to complete the community service action project. These hours will be fulfilled outside of school hours and will be supervised under the direction of one or more adults from the school or community. All students must complete the Action Log Google Form whenever they spend time working on their action. Students should also keep a notebook to record journal notes that will be sued for their reflection essays.
