Global Context Essay

What is Global Context?

Your global context essay will require you to describe how your Fire Project issue is not only a local or national phenomenon, but also a global phenomenon.  This essay will require you to use your historical context effectively to communicate how your Fire Project issue has changed over time.  You can accomplish this by describing how events in one place relate to the big picture, making comparisons to other regions, making connections to global processes, and the interactions among different regions of the world. 

Your Global Context  essay should be no less than 250 words and no more than 400 words.  


Your mini-essay should answer three of the following questions: 
  1. How does your Fire Project present itself across the globe?  
  2. Provide AT LEAST 3 examples of how your Fire Project issue is seen across the globe.  
  3. What are the social, political, economic, and/or environmental impacts of your Fire Project issue? 
  4. Can your Fire Project issue be solved at the global level?
  5. How are global issues interconnected
  6. How does a change in one global issue affect other global issues?
  7. How are solutions to global problems interconnected?
  8. Why might it be helpful to understand how and why global issues are interconnected?
  9. Can you think of other issues that might be interconnected l with your topic?
  10. What makes global issues so difficult to address?
  11. How can understanding the interconnectedness of your global issue help us find solutions to the problems surrounding these issues?

Your essay must included at least 1 academic scholarly source, which is cited in your annotated bibliography.  
National Context
